SIOUXSIE remix

Siouxsie and the Banshees have a large selection of awesome songs- some played to death, others not played enough. I have always been partial to a popular gem called RED LIGHT from the album kaliedoscope and thought it could use a creepy makeover. I also made a basic 12" out of the original for djs who fancy the original. Seems to fit in nicely with an "indie" set.

DEATHCAB vs THE END

Sometimes some songs become successful singles but they still don't receive the reworking necessary to bring them into a DJs set. This DEATHCAB FOR CUTIE track is one example of this. On the surface SOUL MEETS BODY is a melancholy driving song, but it also has the potential to be a great dance tune in the same vein as ECHO & THE BUNNYMEN's LIPS LIKE SUGAR. When i moved to New York 10 years ago, there was a huge neo- goth scene throughout the city. Most of the kids were borderline ravers and their style was far removed from the goth image i honed as a youth. But in the clubs there was a huge resurgence of dark and dancey music.
Creepy vocals but with much heavier dance beats. The next audio mix is part ONE of a remixed goth/industrial dance medley paying tribute to the earlier bands of the genre with a few more current ones sprinkled in- but all remixed in a modern fashion.
